Despite an undefeated run through the round robin and playoffs, Salmon Arm’s Team Jenkins lost their final game of the BC Senior Curling Championships on Feb. 26.
The game, against the Noble rink from Qualicum Beach, was settled in eight ends, with Team Noble winning 7-5.
The tournament, held at the Salmon Arm Curling Centre from Feb. 21-26, decided who would represent B.C. in national competition.
Before meeting Team Noble in the tournament final, Team Jenkins had racked up an impressive seven victories in the six-day tournament held at the Salmon Arm Curling Centre.
The Jenkins rink began the tournament on Feb. 21 against Team Noble and won 5-2. They followed it up the next day with a 7-4 victory against Team Richter and a 12-0 blowout win against team Nichol.
On Feb. 23, the Salmon Arm locals beat the rink skipped by Karen Lepine 10-3 and the Cowan rink 8-3.
Team Jenkins racked up wins against Teams Deputan and Bulleid on the final day of round robin play.
The Jenkins rink faced Team Cowan again on Feb. 25, and won 8-5 to secure their place in the final.
On the Men’s side of the tournament teams skipped by Craig Lepine and Rob Koffski met in the finals. Lepine’s rink won in seven ends with a score of 8-4.
The Noble and Lepine rinks will be representing B.C. at the Canadian Senior Curling Championships in Fredericton New Brunswick.
