Salmon Arm got to experience some of the excitement from the NHL Draft this week.

Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward Owen Beckner was selected in the seventh round (204th overall) by the Ottawa Senators on June 29, during the 2023 NHL Draft.

Originally from Victoria, and having played with the ‘Backs the past two seasons, Beckner appeared in 53 games in 2022-2023, scoring 17 goals and adding 33 assists.

The Silverbacks most recently announced the commitment of forward Riley Ashe to the team for its upcoming season. The organization is still actively seeking billet families to help with the season.
