The Rona Shuswap Bantam Lacrosse Outlaws wrapped up a successful season at the B.C. Lacrosse Provincial Tournament in Victoria over the weekend.

Their first game was a tight 5-4 loss to North Delta.  In their second game, the Outlaws defeated eventual champions Juan de Fuca Whalers 10-5.  In their final round-robin game, Shuswap fought hard but eventually lost to the New Westminster Salmonbellies in overtime by a 4-3 score. They did not advance to the knock-out round.

Head coach Steve Sagh was happy with his team’s performance.

“We came out a little flat and nervous in our first game and lost a game I thought we could win. After that, the kids played hard and we were right there.  Overall we had a successful season.  They are a great bunch of kids.”

Sagh was recognized as the “Fair Play Coach” of the tournament.

Game MVP awards went to Jake Cowie, Zach Fournier and Austin Pugh. Pugh was also selected to the provincial all-star team. Perry Qiodravu was selected to receive the “Warrior Fair Play Award”  for Shuswap.
