Shuswap Outlaws to host lacrosse tourney next weekend

Midget team now sitting pretty with an 8-0 record in the Thompson Okanagan Midget Lacrosse League.

The Shuswap Outlaws Midget Lacrosse team returned to league action this weekend with a pair of games.

On Saturday they were in Revelstoke to face the Grizzlies. Shuswap used hat tricks from Austin Pugh and Adam New to defeat Revelstoke 10-0. The Outlaws were then at home on Sunday to play the Kamloops Rattlers. Shuswap was down early and played from behind for most of the game. However, the Outlaws clawed back to take an 8-7 lead at the end of the second period. In the third period Shuswap extended its lead to 12-8 when the game was called with four minutes left due to a player injury.

Shuswap’s Justin Backus led all scorers with 8 points in the game while Jeremy Bosher scored 5 goals for the visitors. The two victories moved Shuswap’s record in the Thompson Okanagan Midget Lacrosse League to 8-0. The team will now host their home tournament this weekend beginning Friday at the Shaw Centre.
