The first-annual Al Boucher Memorial Slo-Pitch Tournament was held at the Canoe ball fields which have also been renamed in Boucher’s honour.

Ten teams played in the tournment, including the Warthogs, a team from Calgary that Boucher played on who arrived with all their jerseys printed with Boucher’s number 22.

After three days of play, the final game came down to the Fighting Pheasants and the Benchwarmers. The Pheasants won the game in spectacular fashion with a walk-off home run in the final inning which earned them three runs and the comeback victory.
