Soccer player applies for grant

Julia Anderson, a Salmon Arm Secondary graduate, who received a soccer scholarship to North Country College in New York State, is looking for help covering the cost of her studies.

Anderson applied for the Dairy Farmers of Canada Champions Fund, a series of $5,000 grants for deserving female athletes.

“Grant money would go towards tuition I pay as an international student at the US college where I play soccer and study. With Canada-US dollar exchange rate being as it is, my RESP, scholarships (athletic and academic), summer job, a work study and the support of my family do not cover costs,” Anderson said in her grant application.

Supporters of Anderson’s application for the grant can give her a word of encouragement at www.womenchampions.ca/champions-fund/applicants/2648?utm_campaign=Fund16&utm_medium=SoSh&utm_source=FB&utm_content=encourage-30s-DW.
