SAS Nugget Tournament

The Salmon Arm Secondary Senior Boys Basketball team host their Nugget tournament on Jan. 13 and 14. The Golds’ first game is Friday at 5:30 p.m. The tournament will feature the Barry Dearing Foundation bean bag fundraiser with prizes donated by local businesses. Admission to games is free, popcorn will be available by donation.

Reino Keski-Salmi Loppet

Online registration for the 33rd annual Reino Keski-Salmi Loppet opened on Dec. 12,  and will close Jan. 12, 2017. The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 14. Those interested in the event can also register in person between 3 and 8 p.m. at the SASCU Recreation Centre or by mail. Ten-time paralympic gold medallist Brian McKeever and Alysson Hamilton, a former Larch Hills skier who went on to compete internationally, will be participating. PeeWee Rec. Tournament

The SAMHA PeeWee Rec. Tournament will be held at the Shaw Centre on Jan. 13, 14 and 15. Twelve teams from Kamloops, Winfield, Kelowna, Oliver and West Kelowna will be competing.

BCHL Roster deadline

The roster deadline for BCHL teams passed on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. No further player transfers will be accepted until June. 1 2017.

Pirate Loppet

Larch Hills will host the elementary school pirate loppet on Jan. 27 beginning at 10:30 a.m. One, two and five-kilometre routes are available. Hot dogs and hot beverages will be served to young skiers and event volunteers.

Bridge results

The results for Jan. 8 from the Cedar Heights Duplicate Bridge Club: First place Shirley and Chuck Buckler, second place  Ruth Embree and Michael Clayton, third place Doreen and Dennis Roberts and fourth place Dan Quilty and Gerry Chatelain. The Bridge Club plays every Sunday at 1 p.m. at the 5th. Avenue Senior Centre and everyone is welcome. For more information, call 250-803-5556.
