Vernon's Shanda Hill is back with her biggest challenge ever.

The ultra athlete is preparing for the first-ever Triple Deca Ultra Triathlon.

Set to take place in Lake Garda, Italy on Sept. 1, the Triple Deca will see competitors strive to complete a 114 kilometre swim, 5,400 km bike ride and a 1,266 km run.

"The Triple Deca is a dream come true for me, and I can't wait to give it everything I've got," Hill said.

Hill has already set numerous ultra distance records, including becoming the only person on Earth to complete three Double Deca triathlons. She finished the Bretzel Ultra Tri Quintuple in France earlier this year, with a time of 106 hours and 44 minutes.

Hill will leave for Italy on Monday, Aug. 26, and will join 14 other competitors for the most demanding race ever conceived.

Hill's journey can be followed live on social media, through her Facebook, and Instagram
