Salmon Arm Silverbacks player Mark Zengerle has signed a one-year contract with the AHL’s Grand Rapid Griffins.

Zengerle of Rochester, NY amassed 162 points (37-125-162) in 151 games with the University of Wisconsin Badgers from 2010-2014. Last season, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward paced the Badgers with 44 points (10-34-44), leading the team in both scoring and assists. Prior to turning pro, the 25-year-old put up 97 points (31-66) in 62 games in his first season in Salmon Arm during the 2008-2009 season before potting 126 points (35-91) in 66 games during his second season, 2009-2010.
