Blind Bay’s Chantel Jeffrey placed first in her under-15 category in sweltering temperatures at Peachland’s 10km Beach Run on Canada Day. Out of 190 runners, the 11-year-old runner placed 60th and, even more impressively, in the women’s category she finished 16th out of 98 runners. Temperatures reached 28-degrees C before the race had even begun.
