Disaster training: A large-scale, mock emergency scenario played out at Canoe Beach yesterday. The Columbia Shuswap Regional District’s Shuswap Emergency Program co-ordinated the exercise that was more than two years in the planning, with representatives of RCMP, Ministry of Environment, BC Ambulance Service and the Salmon Arm Fire Rescue participating on the design team. About 100 volunteers participated in the realistic disaster training exercise.
