Salmon Arm’s Top 20 Over 40 honourees gathered in celebration at R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum in the Sprig of Heather restaurant.

Seventy people were in attendance for the May 25 event recognizing the 20 community members recognized in the 20 Over 40 program.

Lana Fitt, executive director for Salmon Arm Economic Development Society (SAEDS), started the evening off with an introduction to the program, presenting gifts and making a special mention to the sponsors: Ian Gray’s Salmon Arm GM, BDO Canada LLP, Community Futures Shuswap, Serviss Wealth Management and Value Partners Investments, who make the program possible.

“The Top 20 honourees represent Salmon Arm’s community leaders, our entrepreneurs and most certainly our change-makers. The gala event provides a great opportunity to celebrate and honour these remarkable individuals who have achieved outstanding success,” said Fitt.

Mayor Alan Harrison also addressed the honourees, extending his gratitude on behalf of the city, for the hard work, dedication and contribution that each has brought to Salmon Arm.

Dustin Serviss, of Serviss Wealth Management, was the lead event sponsor and the emcee for the evening. Serviss delivered an uplifting speech on the important role community champions play in building the city. Harrison and Serviss presented each honouree with an award plaque, while the audience proudly acknowledged the contribution of each recipient.

SAEDS is grateful to R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum for hosting the event, the event sponsors and each of the 2023 Top 20 Over 40 honourees: Graham Archer, Josh Bickle, Cam Brown, Rochelle Dale, Chris Davis, Sunny Dhaliwal, Chad Eliason, Gord Erickson, Erin Jackson, Cal Johnson, Bill Laird, Susan Mackie, Peggy Maerz, Winston Pain, Launa Payne, Chad Shipmaker, Trent Sismey, Brandy Stiles, Kathryn Vennard and Chris Wittaker.

The 20 Over 40 program, hosted by Serviss Wealth Management in partnership with Salmon Arm Economic Development Society, identifies outstanding entrepreneurs and business professionals across the region. The goal of the program is to acknowledge and promote visionaries and innovators who are working to create positive change, leaders who are inspiring others while giving back to the community.
