School’s out for Pearson

A shift in leadership is underway at the North Okanagan-Shuswap School District.

A shift in leadership is underway at the North Okanagan-Shuswap School District.

Doug Pearson will retire as the longtime superintendent Aug. 31, while Dave Witt, assistant superintendent, will move into the position.

“Doug has been a very important part of the district for 16 years,” said Bobbi Johnson, board chairperson.

“His retirement is going to be a huge loss for our school district. We have valued his advice and guidance through the many difficult situations we have faced. His experience and expertise have always helped the district do what is best for the students of our entire district.”

Witt has been with the district since 1999.
