In loving memory ~
James Douglas Brown was born in Ontario in 1935. He moved west to pursue his goal of new adventures. Stepped in for a date with a young woman in Salmon Arm, Arlene Maki! Took her flying a few times and the rest is history. Doug and Arlene had 3 children Gary, Jacalyn and Jennifer. Doug regrettably passed away on March 6th, 1984, of complications from leukemia. A loving husband and father who had a wonderful sense of humour, a passion for repairing and inventing equipment and had a great love of flying, hence the Salmon Arm Airport. A man of his word, with a strong work ethic and commitment to family. 40 years gone but never, ever forgotten! Dad, you were one of a kind!
