Salmon Arm Art Gallery and Shuswap Trail Alliance have mixed it up for the July exhibition, which opens Thursday, June 30.

Trail Mix is a multi-media exhibition featuring the work of 15 teams of artists, photographers and guides who went out and experienced the regional trails in all seasons and will tell that story visually in an exhibition that runs  to Aug. 27.

“Two on-site installations at Mount Baldy Trail and Raven Trail will delight hikers and cyclists,” says director/curator Tracy Kutschker, noting three other downtown Salmon Arm venues will feature Trail Mix displays.

For Phil McIntyre-Paul, executive director of the Shuswap Trail Alliance, “the trail is merely a tool to help us find each other; it’s a mark, an after image of that relationship, a mark of the movement of our story together in the landscape.”

Kutschker and McIntyre-Paul have been mulling a collaborative project for three years, and this integrated exhibition is the “beautiful result,” Kutschker says.

Details on where to find artwork and when the teams will be speaking at the gallery, can be found on the website www.salmonarmartscentre.ca.
