The Worst Pop Band Ever plays their exuberant mix of indie jazz at the SAGA Public Art Gallery.

Toronto based “indie” jazz group, the Worst Pop Band Ever performs at the SAGA Public Art Gallery April 18.

The band is on tour in support of their latest album, Sometimes Things Go Wrong, recorded in 2011 at Cory Weed’s Cellar on their last Western Canadian Tour.

Despite it’s name, the band has been a mainstay of the Toronto jazz scene, and the individual members have played with a who’s who of the Canadian Music Scene, from Feist to the Shuffle Demons; Tanika Charles to Amanda Martinez. And two of them have won Junos.

The band consists of Chris Gale on sax, Adrean Farrugia on keys, Gordan Mowat on bass, Tim Shia on drums and LEO37 on turntables.

The band is also running a “Worst Pop Song Contest” in conjunction with Long and McQuade music in hopes of finding some new material.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and admission is by a minimum donation of $15 at the door.
