Investment to bolster Salmon Arm business may lead to new job opportunities

Dinoflex Group LP announces plans for increasing capacity, workstation automation

A Salmon Arm business expects to be able to offer new job opportunities as it follows through with plans to add capacity through new equipment and automated systems.

Recycled rubber surface manufacturer Dinoflex Group LP announced Wednesday, March 6, it is in the process of bolstering its Salmon Arm facility, bringing in new equipment that will result in a safer and more efficient workplace.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce a $10 M growth capital expenditure investment plan over the next 3-4 years,” said Dinoflex CEO Mark Bunz in a media release. “This plan is an extension of our recent investments in plant expansion, new equipment and automation at our Salmon Arm facility.”

Bunz said the new new investment includes reallocation of non-manufacturing space into production space and an array of new production equipment “to increase our capacity, as well as workstation automation to make our manufacturing process easier, safer and more efficient.”

“The additional capacity will enable Dinoflex to continue to meet the fast-growing demand within the commercial space, as well as increase penetration into the retail and e-commerce verticals under the Rubber King brand, creating the opportunity for more people to experience the Dinoflex difference,” said Bunz.

Salmon Arm Economic Development Society executive director Lana Fitt commented positively about the news and the impact it will have for Dinoflex and the community.

“The Salmon Arm Industrial Park, and its deep talent pool, are renowned for providing innovative solutions and high-quality products around the globe,” commented Fitt in the media release. “Dinoflex is certainly a shining example of this as an industry leader and a major employer in Salmon Arm. We look forward to supporting Dinoflex growth well into the future!”

Dinoflex said the investment will “broadly support local and Okanagan area businesses in the engineering, fabricating

and robotic/automaton industries,” and will also enable the company to continue to expand its employee base in Salmon Arm and “open up job opportunities for a higher skilled, more diverse workforce.”

The first phase of the three-phase project is currently underway.
