Musical artists are wanted for Salmon Arm’s popular outdoor concert series, Wednesday on the Wharf (WOW).

The Salmon Arm Arts Centre is now inviting applications for WOW at the Marine Peace Park gazebo for July and August. Musical artists are asked to apply online ahead of the March 15 deadline.

WOW is a family-friendly, by-donation, open-air concert series that has been a staple in the community since 1993. The event offers a welcoming environment for people of all ages to gather, enjoy the summer sun and immerse themselves in the joy of live music.

Program manager Astrid Varnes noted WOW offers a unique performance opportunity as a mid-week, outdoor performance venue with crowds of up to 700 people.

“It’s a great way to bring touring bands to Salmon Arm, and it gives local bands a chance to connect with a huge number of folks.”

By presenting a wide range of musical genres over the nine weeks of summer, WOW offers audiences a rich musical journey, and the chance to make memories together, added Varnes.

Interested artists can access the application form, and learn more about the selection criteria, by following the links on Arts Centre website at www.salmonarmartscentre.ca. Inquiries can be directed to Varnes at wow@salmonarmartscentre.ca.
