A report of a dog stolen in Chase resulted in a happy ending for the canine companion.
On Oct. 14, Chase RCMP were called to investigate a missing eight-year-old Weimaraner. The owner said the dog had gone missing from his property and had been searching for several hours, convinced the dog was stolen, said Sgt. Barry Kennedy.
Police were told there were two suspects in a white cube van who had been seen at a neighbour’s property.
After investigation and interviews trying to identify the van’s occupants, Kennedy said the next day police were informed the dog had been found trapped in a neighbour’s shed.
The dog could have gone into the shed and had the door close behind it, said Kennedy, and the pup was safe, just hungry.
