Shuswap firefighters will be responding to a blaze in Notch Hill this evening.

The fire, expected to occur between 6:30 and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, will be set in a field for the Shuswap Fire Department’s annual wildland practice. As a precaution, the fire department issued a public notice about the practice so people aren’t alarmed by the blaze.

“We do these practices to prepare for the upcoming summer and ensure we are properly trained,” reads a post shared by the fire department via Facebook.

The Shuswap Fire Department provides structural and interface fire protection to the communities of Sorrento, Blind Bay and area.
