McDonald’s is cooking up a second restaurant in the city.
Council gave initial consideration to a development permit for the new location, at the Salmon Arm Shopping Centre, during its development and planning services committee meeting on Mar. 18.
It would be located at the east end of an undeveloped lot across from Jiffy Lube. The 64-seat restaurant is proposed with a drive-thru and outdoor patio area. There is a McDonald’s at 30th Street and 11th Avenue NE.
“I support this and appreciate the design review panel’s thought with adding an outdoor patio,” Coun. Kevin Flynn said.
Council was unanimous in supporting the application.
A public hearing on the development is scheduled for council’s Mar. 25 meeting.
