Trans-Canada Highway 1 to close west of Revelstoke

The closure is to conduct avalanche control work and is scheduled to start at 5 a.m.

Trans-Canada Highway 1 west of Revelstoke will be closed on Tuesday morning, March 12, for avalanche control work.

DriveBC advised of the closure Monday afternoon. The work is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning and is expected to take roughly two hours to complete. During the control work, the road will be closed to traffic in both directions with no alternative route available.

The work will be conducted between the Griffin Lake avalanche gate, spanning more than 15 km to the Clanwilliam OH bridge.

DriveBC will provide an update on the closure at 6:45 a.m.
