PHOTOS: Salmon Arm’s Yeti Rugby hosts Mud 7s

Over 65 co-ed players from around the province attended the annual tourney

Yeti Rugby hosted its 26th Annual Snow 7s tournament, though recent mild weather prompted organizers to dub this year’s event the Mud 7s.

Held at Salmon Arm Elk’s Hall & Park on Feb. 10, the tourney saw more than 65 co-ed players of all ages slipping and sliding across the field and scoring tries. In appreciation for hosting their event, the Yetis will work with the Elks this spring to maintain and prepare the fields for Salmon Arm Minor Baseball’s season.

“We strive to continue to work with all our sporting groups in our community to achieve healthy working relationships and grow youth/adult sports in Salmon Arm,” Yeti public relations director Michelle Hoekstra said in media release.

Up next for the club is a tour to Grand Cayman for the junior teams, tentatively scheduled for March 14-24.
