Chase mayor wins by 11 votes over incumbent councillor

Results still unofficial, Rod Crowe defeats incumbent mayor Rick Berrigan

The unofficial counts for 2018 municipal elections in B.C. are in, showing a new mayor for the Village of Chase along with two new councillors.

Rod Crowe has been elected as the new mayor of Chase, with the unofficial count showing the race was an extremely tight one with Crowe winning 256 to 245, a mere 11 votes over fellow candidate and incumbent councillor David Lepsoe.

On council, incumbents Ali Maki, 753 votes, and Steven Scott, 585 votes, will be joined by new councillors Alison Lauzon, who topped the polls with 773 votes, and Fred Torbohm, 641.

Election results released Oct. 20 are considered unofficial and the official results will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
