Chase RCMP arrest armed man for uttering threats

The man allegedly threatened to kill another person and shoot police officers

The Chase RCMP arrested a 34-year-old man after he allegedly threatened to kill another person and shoot police officers.

The man was arrested without incident at his residence on Third Avenue in Chase. During the arrest officers found a loaded handgun tucked into the waistband of the man’s pants. Police also recovered a shotgun with its barrel cut short and a modified stock making it a prohibited firearm.

The man is in custody and scheduled to face charges relating to the threats and firearms in Kamloops Provincial Court today.
