Chase RCMP are requesting the public’s help in investigating the sudden death of a 63-year-old Chase man.

Ross Russell McNichol was found dead in his home on Mill Road on Friday, June 24.

Although an autopsy was performed Monday, police report that it was inconclusive regarding the cause of death.

Police are attempting to establish a timeline of activities, so ask that anyone who may have seen McNichol in the week leading up to his death to contact the Chase RCMP at 250-679-3221.

James Pelle, who lives next to McNichols’ home and is an attendant at the nearby Chase Lions RV Park, said McNichol lived there for about 20 years. He said his body was discovered when friends came by and noticed his dog was still in the house.

Investigators remained at the scene on Tuesday.

“He was just a happy-go-lucky guy as far as I knew,” remarked Pelle.
