Two people have been arrested in relation to stolen property discovered after a citizen reported a suspicious vehicle in the Tappen area.

On Sept. 2,  RCMP report a member of the general public reported a suspicious vehicle and the RCMP officer that attended

located a man and woman in the vehicle in the 4000 block of Sunnybrae Canoe Point Road.

Checks of the vehicle revealed that it had been stolen in Logan Lake on Aug. 30.

Both were arrested and taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle later found a stolen TV and other stolen property along with a substantial quantity of cannabis. In the subsequent investigation the couple were determined to have given false names to the police.

When the correct names were checked,  the police learned they had extensive police involvement and had most recently been from Kamloops and Savona.

The Salmon Arm RCMP has recommended charges against the two adults pertaining to property offences, failing to

comply with court ordered conditions and obstructing the police by giving false names.

They are due to appear in court Sept. 27 in Salmon Arm.
