A woman was taken to hospital with possible fractures to her arm and ankle after the motorcycle she was driving went off the road Monday afternoon. A husband and wife were riding on the same motorcycle near the intersection of 70th Avenue SW and 80th Street SW when, for unknown reasons, the woman lost control of the bike. She veered across both lanes of traffic and end up in the opposite ditch.

The husband sustained only minor injuries.

 

 

Exceeding the speed

An off-duty RCMP officer who was taking a police cruiser for service in Kamloops, clocked a motorcycle driving towards Salmon Arm at speeds of approximately 190 km/h on the Trans-Canada Highway near Balmoral Road on Tuesday morning. The officer was unable to stop the driver, but alerted police in Salmon Arm. No arrests were made.

 

 

Rail truck goes missing

A CP Rail truck parked near Lakeshore Drive was stolen in the early morning hours of July 11. It was found abandoned later that day.

 

 

Distinctive appearance

Police are looking for three suspects in a break and enter that took place overnight July 10. They have limited descriptions of the two male suspects, however, the female suspect was sporting blue hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detachment at 250-832-6044.

 

 

Thief nabbed

A 16-year-old youth was arrested after attempting to break into vehicles in Canoe. A resident spotted the youth and called police, who located the suspect a short distance away. The teen attempted to flee from police but was quickly apprehended.

 

 

Familiar face

 

Surveillance video at the Hideaway Liquor Store helped police make an arrest on July 7. A man was observed trying to steal items from the store but fled when confronted by staff. Police looked at the video, recognized the suspect and later arrested him. Three charges of breaching court conditions are also being sought.
