Public warned

On Dec. 8 the Salmon Arm RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of an interrupted break and enter in the 2200 block of Blind Bay Road.

On Dec. 8 at approximately 7:58 a.m., the Salmon Arm RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of an interrupted break and enter in the 2200 block of Blind Bay Road. Police were advised that a man had been discovered inside a carport attempting to steal tools. He fled in a vehicle that was intercepted a short distance away by a responding officer. He then abandoned the vehicle a distance away and left on foot. A police service dog handler was dispatched to the scene but did not locate the suspect. The suspect vehicle was seized and towed for examination. The subsequent investigation has identified a suspect who is currently wanted for this offence and several other unrelated outstanding charges. Police are warning the public that there are several active criminals in the Salmon Arm area that are targeting residential homes for break and enters.
