Members of the public are invited to view and provide written comments on the proposed amendment to Interfor’s existing Forest Stewardship Plan for operations located in the Thompson Rivers Natural Resources District.
The FSP amendment is required to address timber salvage operations within the areas affected by the 2023 wildfires. Within areas requiring consideration of the visual impacts of harvesting, the current visual quality objectives may not be achievable due to the scale and severity of the wildfire impact.
Interfor has initiated a 10 day public review and comment period. The FSP and proposed amendment can be viewed until January 1st, 2024 at the following address during regular business hours.
