NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE AN AMENDED OPERATIONAL CERTIFICATE 5479 UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT
Take notice that the Director intends, a minimum of 30 days after the date of publication, to issue an AMENDED OPERATIONAL CERTIFICATE 5479 to holder Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) for the Salmon Arm Landfill located at 4290 20th Ave SE Salmon Arm, BC. The operational certificate was first issued on December 19, 2006, and establishes the minimum operating requirements to discharge residual municipal solid waste to the ground at this landfill.
The land upon which the facility is situated, and the discharge occurs, is:
Lot 1, Plan 45716, Section 7, Township 20, Range 9,
West of the Sixth Meridian, Kamloops Division of the Yale District
The amendment authorizes an update to the Operational Certificate and incorporate adjacent land for landfill related activities. The draft amended operational certificate is in accordance with the approved 2008 Columbia Shuswap Regional District Solid Waste Management Plan, and plan updates in 2015 and 2018.
The draft amended Operational Certificate 5479 can be viewed at the CSRD office, 555 Harbourfront Drive NE, Salmon Arm, BC (Tel: 250-833-5940) or via email: bvannostrand@csrd.bc.ca.
Any person who may be adversely affected by the proposed amendment and wishes to provide relevant information may, within 30 days after the date of publishing, send written comments to the Director at envcia@gov.bc.ca. The identity of any respondents and the contents of anything submitted in relation to this application will become part of the public record.
