April 2, 1938 - May 24, 2022
With great sadness and a heavy heart we said goodbye to Allen Emil Ebl, May 24, 2022.
Born April 2, 1938 in Rocky Mountain House, AB. Allen moved to Kelowna, BC in 1948, where his family were orchardists. Employed with S & K Plywood after high school, where he met his wife, Lexie Robertson and they married in 1961.
Allen & his family moved to Salmon Arm (SA) in 1965 where he was employed by Federated CO-OP Canoe for 30 years.
In 1970 the family purchased an acreage in SA with a heritage home built in 1910. This home became a labor of love as Allen was able to use his woodworking skills restoring the home to original state. Allen enjoyed woodworking, stain glass creating, wine making, square/old time dancing, fishing, hunting, camping and travelling.
Allen could repair and create anything with whatever was available. Allen gained great joy and was always available to helping others. He had the gift of conversation-especially over a glass of wine, a huge heart and he gave the best hugs.
Allen's main strength was ensuring his family and those he loved were taken care of, no matter what.
Allen served as president of the SA Square Dance for many years. During 2003-2020, he served on the Board of Directors along with many hours of volunteering for the SA Seniors 5th Ave Ctr. He volunteered for 30 years at the Broadview Fire department
Allen is survived by his wife, Lexie of 61 years, son Leslie, daughter Lori (Jasen Gerein) and grandchildren Caylin and Connor. His sister, Anna Stuart, brother Glenn Ebl (Val) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Seniors 5th Ave Centre in SA will be hosting a celebration of life in Allen's honor for his family, friends and neighbors on July 3, 2022 from 1-4 pm.
