November 17, 1942 - March 17, 2020
Anne Forsyth, nee Bender, 77 years, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 17, 2020. Anne was born in Humboldt, Sk on Nov 17, 1942. Her early years were not easy, having to spend time in an orphanage, trying to keep her siblings together during those years.
While going to school in Saskatoon she met and married her high school sweetheart, Vern Forsyth, and together they worked hard to build their life in Edmonton, Ab where they had their daughter, Cathy Anne in 1962.
In 1972 they moved to British Columbia for work opportunities where Anne began working for Canada Post as a combined urban services contractor for the next 20 years. In 1998 Anne and Vern retired to the beautiful Shuswap area of Sorrento, BC. Unfortunately, Anne lost Vern to cancer too early in retirement. Anne had many friends and cared very much about keeping her friends close to her heart.
Her friends will tell you she was a fun, trusted and caring person, she loved you with all her heart. Anne met John Durham in 2003 and they had a loving relationship and time together. She lived in the Sorrento Lions Manor for 13 years and cared a great deal about the many people who lived there. Anne enjoyed cooking for company and visits from her nieces and everyone will remember her apple and lemon meringue pies! She lived her life with an amazing grace and confidence, even in the face of challenges.
We loved and admired you so much Anne, Mom, Grandma, Auntie, Sister, friend. Anne is survived by her loving partner John, her daughter, Cathy (Dwayne) Hodgson, granddaughters Laura (Kyle) Schumi, Lindsay Hodgson, Caley Hodgson and great-grandchildren, Kayden, Khloe and Connor.
