On the morning of August 21, Betty Stark passed peacefully from this world to her heavenly home. She will be sorely missed, and the memories of her earthly stay will be cherished by her many friends and the people who cared for her.
Betty Doreen Mee was born in Maple Creek, SK to Will and Anne Mee. She lived on a ranch in the Cypress Hills and was homeschooled until age 17 when she moved to Medicine Hat, AB to attend Garbutt Business College. Bet- ty worked in the commercial office of Al- berta Government Telephones where she met and married Jack Stark in 1961. She then worked in the Medical Arts Clinic until moving to Salmon Arm in 1967. She began to work with Dr. Ken Kolkind as he set up his practice. Betty continued work at the clinic of Drs Kol- kind, Penner, Burechailo, et al for 28 years until retirement. She then moved on to oversee the office for NeighbourLink. She loved flowers and found great plea- sure in her garden. Betty was well known for her beautiful flower arrangements over the many years at Crossroads Free Methodist Church where she was a proud founding member (1974), serving the Lord in many areas.
Betty was predeceased by her parents; husband, Jack (1974); and sister, Nellie. Left to mourn and celebrate her homegoing are nephews, Norman Kimber and Edwin Kimber, along with all her many friends. Special thanks to Dr. Heunis as well as caregivers at Shuswap Lodge and Piccadilly Care Centre.
A service will be held at Crossroads FM Church on Thursday, August 29 at 11:00 am. Rev. Sheldon Carlson and Rev. George Fleming officiating. Refreshments following. Interment will follow in the family plot in Mt. Ida Cemetery.
