In loving memory of Carol Isabel Wilson, a beacon of kindness and compassion, who departed peacefully at the age of 83 on March 6, 2024, with her beloved husband John at her side. Carol's remarkable spirit touched countless lives creating a legacy of love, generosity, and advocacy.
Born in Edmonton in 1940 to Roy and Janet Forman, Carol's deep love for nature and animals blossomed from an early age. She stood for environmental stewardship and animal welfare, advocating tirelessly for their protection throughout her life. Carol loved the wide-open, sunny Alberta sky and the delicate beauty of a wild rose.
A devoted wife of 58+ years, Carol lived numerous adventures with her husband John, from parachuting where they first met to their shared journey across Europe and North America. Together, they were the essence of partnership and love. A nurturing mom, Carol instilled in her son Barry the courage to chase his dreams.
Carol's impact extended beyond her family, as she inspired young minds as a much loved teacher. Fondly known as "CW" by her students, she infused learning with joy and enthusiasm, forever leaving an indelible mark on those she taught.
In addition to her husband John, Carol is survived by her son Barry Wilson, daughter-in-law Karen Wilson, granddaughter Cassidy Wilson, step-grandson Jacob Reid, and many cherished relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister Eleanor Dallow, and brother-in-law Eric Dallow.
A private Celebration of Carol's Life will be held with family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the SPCA, where Carol gave so much time and comfort to animals in need.
