It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Cecil (Joyce) Westoby on September 14th at the Vernon Hospice House with her husband of 62 years William (Bill) Westoby at her side.
Joyce was born in Wetaskiwin Alberta, April 5th, 1935, and she married Bill August 28th 1954.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, 7 siblings, daughter Christina.
She is survived by her husband Bill, sons Alan, James (Lisa), daughter Shawneen (Tony). Grandchildren, Terri, Tanya, Celina, Crysta, Tevis, Benjamin, Naomi, Deborah, Thomas, Josiah. Great-grandchildren, Nataya, Jenna, David, Alisa, Anthony, Harley.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will remembered for her personal gifts, knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing also her garden, her sense of humour and her quiet gentle spirit.
A family internment was held September 20th at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Vernon BC.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Vernon Christian Fellowship Church - 4506 29th Street Vernon, BC at 1pm on Saturday October 1st 2016, Everyone is welcome there will be a tea served after.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests you make a donation to the charity of your choice in Joyce’s name. If you wish to support the Vernon Hospice Society or the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation the staff were amazing in her care during her last illness.
Joyce has found her wings and will be there watching over us.
