In Loving Memory ~
It is with sadness that we have to say "goodbye" to our:
"Mom" - (Debbie Dugdale, Gerri Thompson & Lyle Shrigley, David Dugdale)
"Nana" - (Greg & Tracy Thompson, Mike & Saulene Thompson, Daryl & Rachel Thompson, Jason Thompson; Adam Fawcett, Stacie Fawcett; Dalton Dugdale)
"Great Nana" - (Carter Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Paige Thompson; Madeleine Thompson, Hudson Thompson; Harlow Dugdale)
"Sister" - (Duane Somerford)
"Darling" - (Bob Paige - Deanna's partner/love for the past 18 years)
"Deanna" - (Tom Dugdale; Joyce Wiebe; Paige's family = David & Gary, (Jani) & Jim, Jason & Lauren, Alison & Micah)
"Nana Danna" - (Ophelia)
"Dee" - (Kitimat friends)
"Lifelong friends" - (Eunice (and Bill) Warring - since 1970 & Bonnie (and Gord) Hunter - Since 1959)
Deanna was predeceased by her late husband of 39 years, Stanley Dugdale (1997) ... by her mother (Edith - 1998), her father (Cornelius -1982), and her two brothers (Happy - 1947; Bill - 1990).
Deanna (mom) lived a full - and incredible life. Mom told us stories of hard times: when she wore gumboots year-round and lived in a home/chicken pen during her early childhood years. However, she also told great stories of success/happiness: her first job at Woodwards, or when she married the love of her life, Stanley (Dad).
As a new family - Dad welded the back doors of our station wagon shut... and we headed north, seeking a better life. It was in Kitimat that mom and dad settled and built up a successful Structural Steel business. We soon became well known/accepted in the community, and Kitimat was our 'home' for many years.
Mom and dad eventually retired to a beautiful 165-acre log house estate, that they had built together. After Dad passed, Mom made her way to Salmon Arm via Fort Steele, Calgary, and Surrey/White Rock.
She shared the last 26 years with her growing family - and met Bob (her second 'love'). Bob and Mom lived a full and wonderful life together - exploring Canada (Mom's world) and the U.S. (Bob's world).
We are all sad to say goodbye. The broken heart that Deanna's great-granddaughter, 'Paige' drew for her, spoke true to how we all felt. From the mouths of babes...
It was our great privilege to have called her 'Mom, Nana, Great Nana, Sister, Darling, Deanna, Nana Danna, Dee, and friend'.
How blessed were we!
