In Loving Memory ~
Born in Victoria, BC on May 9, 1945 and died in Kamloops on January 30, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Susan, his sons David (Kelly), Dan (Jessie) and daughter Jennifer (Josche), as well as eight much-loved grandchildren Sebastian, Brendan, Eve, Dominic, Auldin, Alexis, Leighton, and Arlen.
He also leaves his sister Ellen, and brothers James and David. After spending his childhood living in Winnipeg, he moved to Calgary and then settled in Chase.
After working for Holdings Lumber, an opportunity presented itself with BC Ambulance, and Don began his natural-fit career as a paramedic that lasted 32 years, serving it all in Chase.
Besides his love of family, Don's passion was motorcycles - Harley's in particular - having belonged to both the Manitoba Motorcycle Club and a founding member of the Kamloops HOG chapter. Don has numerous lifelong friends in his biker community, with whom he is known as "Mother".
Don loved to tell stories to his family, friends, children, and grandchildren as well as a song or two that always followed with a laugh, as they were usually a little off-colour.
Don also leaves to mourn his two huskies Shelby and Grady, whom he considered family members and spoiled accordingly.
A memorial service will be held in the spring to allow safer travel for family and friends.
Thank you to Dr. Chevalier, staff of G8 Neurological Ward, and Kamloops Hospice for their compassion and care of Don.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Chase & District Health Services Foundation.
