January 22, 1948 - August 31, 2020
Survived by his two children, Brent (Tanya) and Lara (Matt), and his two grandkids Keegan and Lilly. He will also be missed by the love of his life, long-time companion, and the only lady he could truly get along with, Nicky (and her most recent litter of puppies). Doug saw opportunity in every rusted out car or uncut tree. He could make a junkyard tour out of a short trip and an epic journey of shenanigans from every adventure. Criticism of his collection would quickly bring a response " Its merchandise, not junk". He was a protector of food past the expiry date, a connoisseur of road kill and a conserver of water. Doug's hobbies included talking about fixing vehicles, buying vehicles, sweet talking dental hygienists and popping in for a nice meal with unsuspecting hosts. Doug was that guy in Walmart with his tightie-whities on his face, he would say " If I don't behave the way I do, nobody will know I was here". Those who knew him loved him (mostly) and everyone who met him remembered Doug, he wouldn't dare bite his tongue. May the junkyard in the sky be full of working transmissions, unseized exhaust studs, and a little extra knuckle skin. Love ya Dad.
