In Loving Memory ~
Edith Margery McEwen passed away on December 25, 2023, at the age of 102. Edith was born in Stoughton, Sask., the fourth child in a family of six born to Sam and Sadie Bennett.
Edith became a teacher and taught at schools in Alberta and B.C. She married dairy farmer Donald McEwen and became an active participant in their business.
She is survived by 3 children, Mavis (Walter) of Ladysmith, Heather of West Vancouver, and Brian (Kate) of Nelson and her sister Lois Faris of Red Deer.
Edith was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2008 and her daughter Margaret in 2020. She was dedicated to her family and has 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Home, for 62 years, was in Grindrod along the Shuswap River. She was a committed community member involved with the Grindrod Women's Institute and the 4-H youth programs.
Retirement was in Salmon Arm and Nelson.
