HRECHUK, Edna Jennie passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC surrounded by her family on Monday, November 28, 2011 at the age of 96 years.

Edna was born in Hemaruka, AB on October 15, 1915. She lived throughout Alberta and BC until settling in Kamloops from 1962 until 1993, at which time she moved to Salmon Arm to be closer to her daughter and family. She had lived in Pioneer Lodge for the past three years where she felt safe, secure and happy.

Edna was predeceased by her husband, Steve; three children, Steven, Mona and William; brother, William and sisters, Annie and Mary.

Fondly remembered as “Baba”, she will be missed by her daughter, Lorna (John) Stringer and their children, Jocelyn (Joel) Godbout, Matthew and Deanna; daughter in law, Jan Hrechuk and her children, Chelsea (Chris) Dingman and their children, Hunter and Sawyer; Laine (Danielle) and their children Dyllen and Paxton; Shelby and his son, Tanner.

A celebration of Edna’s life was held at the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm on Wednesday, November 30th at 11:00 am, with Jack Bowers officiating.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Pioneer Lodge and Bastion Place for their kind and compassionate care.
