Edward Ivan Nesbitt, “Ted” passed away peacefully, following a brief illness at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital, on August 8th, 2008, with his wife and daughter at his side.

Ted was born August 27th, 1928 to Frances and Ivan Nesbitt of Nanton, AB. He started his working life with CP Rail in BC and AB and later moved his family to Edmonton after being accepted into the City Police. After several years, he returned to BC to join the newly established Delta City Police, where he remained until his retirement.

After checking out several retirement areas in BC, Roberta & Ted settled in Salmon Arm in 1979. Ted was passionate about fishing, since childhood – his mom often joked that he was born with a fishing rod in his hand. He & Roberta with many of their “fishing Buds”, enjoyed many trips over the years in search of the perfect fishing experience.

Ted is survived by his wife Roberta, daughter Karen & son in-law Jack, of Nova Scotia, daughters, Barbara & Mary Jane of BC, and son Bruce of AB, sister Patricia & brother Thomas of AB, as well as grandchildren, nieces & nephews; and special close cousins, Eva & family. He is most sadly missed by his family, and best friend, Chi Chi Cat.

Ted has been cremated with internment to be decided at a later time. In keeping with Ted’s love of animals, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Salmon Arm SPCA. 5850 Auto Rd, SE, Salmon Arm V1E 2X2 (250)-832-7376

A celebration of life reception will be hosted by the family on Wednesday, August 20th 2008 at 1:00pm, at Fischer’s Funeral Services & Crematorium, TC HWY @ 1st Ave SW.
