Mrs. Ella Loretta Porteous (Herperger) passed away peace-fully at Hillside Village, Salmon Arm on Friday, February 8, 2008 at the age of 97 years.
Born in Straiton, BC, on October 20, 1910, Ella had been a resident of the Shuswap since 1948.
Ella is survived by her sons, Rick (Debbie), Lorne (Brenda) and Lloyd (Doris); grandchildren, Debra (Sean) Cooper, Suzanne (Lyle) Guthrie, Jamie (Joe) Eichler, Jackie Porteous, Jennifer (Joey) Kennedy, Travis (Jaime) Porteous and Curtis (Teresa) Porteous; great grandchildren, Wade, Cole, Adam, Allison, Shalea, Ellie, Madison, Sidney and Mikayla; and sisters, Altha Minty and Joanne Borrows. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Herperger in 1985, grandson Naden , daughter-in-law, Ellen, and first husband, (Bob) Villelle Hingston Porteous.
Funeral services for Ella were held from Bowers Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 15th, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., with Jack Bowers and Larry Viers officiating. Tributes were shared by son, Rick and granddaughter, Debra. Interment and family service will be held at a later date at Musselwhite Cemetery, Abbotsford.
