FRANCES NORMA GIVENS

Norma Givens was born on May 5th, 1931, in High Prairie Alberta. She passed away peacefully into the hands of her Lord on August 16th, 2011, in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC. She was pre-deceased by her husband Ralph, who passed away in 1976. She is survived by her three sisters, one brother, six children, 15 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

Frances had a life long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Despite this debilitating disease she remained very active and upbeat. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, her smile, her gentleness, her strength of character, and her example of how to live a life full of grace and dignity in the face of physical suffering.

A service celebrating Frances’ life will be held at Cornerstone Christian Reformed Church on August 29th at 11:00 am. Her brother in law, Major Ron Trickett, will be presiding over the service. We would like to thank Dr. Plessis and Dr. Preto for the many years of great care Frances received. We would also like to thank the many Nurses and Doctors at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their care. In memory of Frances it would be appreciated if people donated to the Arthritis Society of Canada.
