With great sadness, Ellie, her children, and her extended family announce the passing of Frederick George Schaber of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
Fred passed on Friday, June 3 surrounded by his family. Born December 11, 1936 at Fleet, Alberta, the eldest of nine children, Fred is predeceased by his parents, Elsie and Emmanuel and his youngest sister, Brenda. He is survived by brothers Don, Ken, Larry, Garry, Harvey, Harland, and sister, Delores Ferris. Married September 30, 1961 Fred and Ellie were blessed with 61 years together. Woven into their story are three children, Dallas, Kenton (Susan) and Lisa (Gerry), and nine grandchildren, and three - soon to be four - great grandchildren; and the friends gathered in the communities of Red Deer, Ponoka, Alder Flats, Rocky Mountain House, and Salmon Arm.
We are grateful for his quiet, steadfast, and gentle ways, his love of a good joke, his devotion to family and friends, and the example of faith, trust and hope of eternal life in Jesus. Our gratitude for his life is equal in measure to our loss. He is and will be greatly missed.
