Gerald Spelay

September 14, 1952 - August 15, 2019
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Gerald Splay on August 15, 2019.
Jerry was born September 14, 1952 in Salmon Arm and was the 2nd of 5 children.
He was predeceased by his father, John; mother, Maire; and brothers, Don and Ted.
He is survived by his son, David; wife, Marci; daughter, Traci; granddaughter, Bailey; grandsons, Austin and Sonny; sister, Corinne; brother, Jim; in-laws, Darren, Dina and Donna; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry loved his sports, good music and spending time with his family. His passion in baseball led him to coach his son for a number of years and if he wasn't on the diamond, he was spending time with his daughter, Traci. The favorite part of his mornings were taking his grandchildren, Bailey and Austin, to school in his big pickup truck.
Jerry was a man's man, one of a kind. He was always there to cheer you up or give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Jerry thoroughly enjoyed visitors, whether you were just passing through town or needed a place to stay a while, he welcomed you with open arms.
All those who are left behind to cherish his memory will dearly miss him, but Jerry will always be close to our hearts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 2:00bpm at Bowers Funeral Home, 440 10th St SW, Salmon Arm (250)-832-2223.
