Gordon Campbell Gulliford

October 4, 2007

On the morning of October 4, 2007, Gord succumbed to his disease, and left

us. His courageous battle with cancer was a testament to his incredible

tenacity and inner strength. Gord was born in Oliver, BC on March 14, 1953

to Eve and Campbell Gulliford, the fourth of five children. Gord grew up

in Salmon Arm, attending school

here and playing hockey and baseball, the sports that were his passion.

Gord was predeceased by both parents and is survived by his partner, Karen;

his children, Rae, Bob (Kira) and Clay; and grandchildren, Dylan, Ava and

Isabella. Also suffering this loss are Gord's brother, Stew (Angie);

sisters, Anne, Lynne (Roger) and Sandy (Ernie); and many nieces and nephews.

Gord's network of friends reached far and wide, from work and play and we

thank them all for respecting Gord's intense need for privacy while he

waged his battle, his family at his side. He knew you were all there for

him and your love and well wishes were passed on to him by our family.

Gord's life journey took many twists and turns, some ups and some downs,

but through it all he remained quick-witted and hung on to his signature

sense of humour. He was a keen observer of the human condition, loved

reading and was always prepared to debate politics, philosophy and anyone

else's opinions.

A casual, "Gord - style" Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, October

11, 2007 at the Intermissions Restaurant at the Sunwave Centre in Salmon

Arm at 3:30 pm.
