February 7, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Gambles on February 7, 2019, two weeks shy of his 88th birthday. Until he was physically unable to do so, "Gordie" enjoyed spending his summers lawn bowling and winters curling in his adopted retirement community of Salmon Arm. Gordon was able to share his special "chin" pie with his children Carolyn (Dave) and Len (Shelley) and grandchildren Cassie (Chris), Chelsea, Breanne and Tyler. Unfortunately, he passed before he was able to share his chin pie with his great grandson Michael.

Born in England in 1931 he immigrated to Canada in 1954 where he met his lovely bride, Hilary (nee White). They settled in Calgary until retirement when they moved to the Salmon Arm area to enjoy his passion for fishing and camping. Gordon spent his early working days in the British navy but moved into construction once in Canada helping build downtown Calgary.

There will be a private family memorial at a future date.

Gord's family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Bastion Place who provided superb care in his final months.

Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bowersfuneralservice.com.
