March 15, 2011

VANKEMPENweb

Henny left behind many friends and relatives who will miss her greatly - In Holland (where she lived her youth), in Revelstoke (where she and her husband Nick emigrated to in 1960), in the Langley/Surrey area (where she raised her children) and in the Salmon Arm/Sicamous area (where she spent her later years). Henny’s family lost their Father early. She loved her widowed Mother dearly and missed them greatly. She is pre-deceased by two brothers, Piet and Henk and also many friends. She is survived by her only sister Ria Bouwmeester (Harry), as well as her brothers Stef, and Bertus and their families. In Canada, she is survived by her husband Nick, her three children Paul (Karen), Imelda (Dean) and Sylvia, her granddaughter Rechelle, and her great-grandchildren Naomi and Seth. Henny was married over 50 years with Nick and recently celebrated her 75th birthday at Park Place Piccadilly Care Centre. Many thanks to the wonderful people who loved and helped her throughout her life.

Henny’s loving devotion to family and friends is a living testament of her faith in God and the Catholic Church; former Minister with the San Damiano Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order in Salmon Arm and active over 40 years with the Catholic Women’s League in BC. She was a sewing teacher in Holland and continued with many crafts through the years. Henny was always smiling, happy and helpful with kind words, understanding and compassion. She loved birds, flowers, puzzles, cards, dancing, music, cooking, baking and people and life.
