It is with extreme sadness, that we the family of Hilda Lunzmann is announcing her passing after a short illness.

Born in Belbutte Sask, Hilda was the 6th child of Samuel and Julianna Zwer. Hilda lived with her parents in Sask. until she moved to Vernon in 1955. She worked at the Vernon Hospital and the National Hotel Coffee Shop. Hilda met her husband, Norman in 1955 and married in 1956. From this union, 5 children were born. The couple settled on Yankee Flats and stayed until 1967, when they moved to Gleneden. Hilda started working at the Skimikin Nursery in 1975 where she stayed until she retired in 1992.

Hilda loved having her family over for gatherings, where she cooked enough food to feed a small army. Anyone was welcome at Gramma’s house. She was an avid knitter and could make anything. Thank goodness she had a large family as someone was always needing sweaters, washcloths or afghans. She was the mender of work pants, the maker of cabbage rolls and the best pie maker around. Hilda accepted everyone, her home was always bursting with love and acceptance for anyone who stopped by. Everybody’s Mom and everybody’s Gramma.

Hilda passed away on husband Norms would be 79th birthday, and we believe that he came to help his beloved wife home.

Hilda was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Julianna Zwer, her husband Norman in 1994, brother Ernie Zwer in 1995 and sister Alena Rupps in 2008.

Hilda is survived by her 5 children, Marie (Scott) Greenwood, Bjorkdale Sask, Shirley (Dick) Ladner, Salmon Arm, Nick (Karen) Lunzmann, Salmon Arm, Carol (Derrick) Keehn, Sicamous and Ernie (Sheila) Lunzmann, Salmon Arm, nine grandchildren, Natalie (Sean), Olivia (Joel), Dustin, Gerald, Melanie (Robert), Jessica (Peter), Stacey, Tyler and Robb, ten great-grandchildren, also, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
